Annually, more than 1,800 children under the age of 15 come down with cancer in Germany. The diagnosis of cancer makes many families feel lost. In Freiburg, concerned families find accomodation in a parents' house right next to the hospital, the house is completely financed by donations. Additionally, the booster club which was founded in 1980 offers a kindergarten for the brothers and sisters of the little patients. The booster club supports parents in all social, psychological and judicial questions and can help to bridge financial shortages. Furthermore, fundraising enables investments in the most modern medical technology and selective research. Consequently, the chance of cure for children suffering from cancer is getting better every day.
